CHALK THE WALK  Live Street Art Competition          9:00AM - 4:00PM

Join us as a chalk artist at our inaugural competition.  Entry fee is $25 for the standard Promenade spaces and $50 for the premium Calhoun Street spaces, due by October 6th.  Spaces are limited so register early.

Chalk Artists receive a chalk space (concrete canvas), chalk art supplies, voting slip for People's Choice Award and the opportunity to enter our competition.  Cash prizes.

THE BLUFFTON HERITAGE DISCOVERY TOUR        11:00AM - 4:00PM
Kick off the Historic Bluffton Arts and Seafood Festival with a leisurely and fun journey through Bluffton's past. Begin your journey at the blue and gold tent on the corner of Calhoun and Lawrence Streets for a celebration of Lowcountry history and heritage.  A special exhibit will be set up unfolding an untold story of the Reconstruction-era in the South.

Then take a tour using Celebrate Bluffton's "Bluffton Buddy" tour app, which will guide you throughout Bluffton with many stories of its rich history and heritage.  Enjoy lunch and shopping along the way in any of our fine restaurants and shops.

There is no charge for this event.  Enjoy!

FRIENDS OF BLUFFTON ARTISTS 6th ANNUAL INVITATIONAL LOCAL ARTIST SHOWCASE,
a celebration of exceptional handmade, original local art including oil and acrylic paintings, pottery and much, much more exhibited throughout our galleries; demonstrations by artists at many.  Stroll Calhoun Street and see our state designated cultural district come alive!

Bring your lawn chair, view the Boat Parade and enjoy Gospel music by Lavon Stevens on the bluff or join the parade in your own boat. Make plans now to gather at the sandbar before 3:00 PM and process to the Church of the Cross following our Admiral of the Fleet, Collins Doughtie.

KAYAK & PADDLE BOARD TOURS ON THE MAY RIVER, MONDAY - SATURDAY
There will be two tours available: an "early bird" tour at 8:00AM for $20.00 and a 10:00AM tour for $25.00 per person. Price includes kayak or paddle board and 1 1/2 hour tour around the May River. Join Al Stokes, Manager/Wildlife Biologist IV, as he presents what is happening at the Waddell Mariculture Center during the renovation process and tour the new lab. The presentation will be followed by a Crab-Pickin' and Oyster-Shuckin' Demonstration by the ladies of The Bluffton Oyster Company. Guests will benefit from the results of their hard work as a prelude to the Dinner Buffet. The buffet, catered by the Toomers, includes Gumbo 2 Ways (chicken and seafood), Caesar salad, cornbread, cookies and tea. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

AUTHOR NIGHT - "CELEBRATE THE RICH HISTORY & CULTURE OF THE LOWCOUNTRY"
through the art of nationally acclaimed West Fraser.
5:30PM Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages provided by Southern Spice Catering and Events; 6:00PM Showtime, at the Rotary Community Center at Oscar Frazier Park (11 Recreation Court Bluffton SC 29910).  Join us for an exciting evening with West Fraser as he shares his latest book, "Painting the Southern Coast", and his passion for capturing and celebrating not only the beauty of the area but the very spirit and soul of the coastal landscapes and waterways through his art. In addition, West will showcase his print of the Bluffton Oyster Factory Shuckers as he shares the mission of his parents' Sustainable Seafood Harvest Fund which directly benefits from the sale of these prints.  Larry and Tina Toomer, owners of the Bluffton Oyster Company, will also be on board to share their insights of oystering in the Lowcountry and the stories of the very people that make it possible for us to enjoy these sweet and salty delights.  Cost: $15.00 donations accepted, proceeds to the Waddell Mariculture Center.
